Hokay, so, here's de erf...Nah, not really, but I has a quick update with some happy news in it.
First off, midterm grades: History of Japan=A, Physics of Light and Color=-A. The latter I had to argue two points back in order to get an A. If I wanted to be an ass, I could have argued even more points back, but in reality, once I get an A, I'm content. I still have one more midterm to go, this time for History of the Modern World which is next Monday.
I got Mariokart on Sunday, and I've been playing against a few guys in the hall when I have time. I play with the wheel, 'cus I'm
hardcore, while everyone else uses the GCN controller to try and pwn me (which...they sometimes do, but hey, I'm at a disadvantage to begin with). The other night, the RA came in and wanted to try and play, so we did 4 tracks, and we tied, so I'm like "...Tie breaker. Rainbow Road" which for most veteran Kart players, is usually a hard ass track, but of course, I'm awesome, so I kicked his ass and got first place. I hope I don't get written up for that.
Also, news from my Basic Art and Design class: My GTF/TA is now officially awesome. I think I told you guys at one point (or I might not have) that one of our assignments was to take a stamp of our choosing and make a picture out of value, which with a stamp, and INK is a bitch to do. Being lazy, and listening to the suggestion that we first draw a grid, I was a shneaky (yes, shneaky) bastard and chose something which was already grid-like-- a Mario sprite from the NES. I expected the class to blast me, since I did something simple which didn't even really satisfy the requirements at all, since there was no background/foreground to distinguish, and it was barely using value since there were no gradients. Well, good thing I chose Mario, because everyone loves Mario, so no one said anything bad at all. Unfortunately, today we got to see the grades on our projects. Predictably, I got a C, but I wasn't angry, because I knew I slacked off, and it wasn't my style, which meant that I had no attachment to the picture. I had just finished my ugly new painting in guash which was supposed to deal with complementary colors, value, and insensity, which was also cheaply done (Everyone was supposed to make some sort of repeating pattern/motif and then do the coloring, and I just did a repeating square). I hated the thing, so I'm just like "..Whatever, I might as well doodle with my pen-brush, since there's still an hour left and I've been needing to doodle a few ideas," so I took out my utensil and began doodling.
It turns out, that was the best thing I could have done. The TA calls me aside, I assumed to talk to me about my lackluster grade and enthusiasm, and the conversation quickly shifted from whether or not I saw my grade, to the fact that he realized why I wasn't particularly interested in what was going on. A freaking miracle,
he realized I was working outside of my style/medium! He was impressed with my doodles, and told me how no one else in class was doing anything like it, and how they were mostly just doing very basic beginner's stuff, but realized that I was uninterested in what we were doing because I already have my own thing going. So, he made me a deal: from now on, I can substitute a lot of the other assignments by just bringing in my drawings, so he can see that I'm doing something! It was awesome, because now I actually have a reason to make time for my drawings now, despite other homework I have. I took him back to my backpack and showed him my "travel portfolio" (which usually consists of my recent pictures), and he realized that I already knew about color, etc. so it was just totally awesome.
Fuckyeah adjusted curriculum.
But of course, I'm not free of homework. I have a midterm on Monday, I have to read about 250 pages of a diary and then write a paper on it by Monday, I have to write a proposal for a term paper (200 words long, shouldn't be too hard), and then write a 5 page (double-spaced, but that wont make it much easier) paper about another Japanese diary we read a week ago, where I'm going to have to hunt for every mentioning of western technology in the woman's life (which is going to suuuuuuck). I just finished physics homework with likely faulty (though hopefully plausible) logic, and today I'm going to get some which is even harder to do. On top of that, I have events I have to attend, and names to memorize for those events, along with a Holocaust reading I'm going to do on Sunday, since I need two hours of community service.
Regardless though, I'll try and draw a few things in the future when I can...since I guess I now have to XD

Srg. Johnson: Now listen up! Back in my day, we didn't have fancy tanks! We had sticks. Two sticks and a rock for the entire platoon! And we had to share the rock! You should consider yourself very lucky marines!

That aside, I think time has a lot to do with it as well. All this college paperwork/financial aid/job hunting hoo-haa kills what's left of my free time.

Hi XD
Incorrect from what I recall. They're Psuedo-random: they use some sort of seed, like a timestamp, and an algorithm to come up with a psuedo random numbers. Just a FYI.)
