My birthday was quiet, only got two gifts, but that's quite alright, as I don't need much, and I know one or two friends are planning on drawing me something. My Mom had a rare moment of insight when she said "if you're content with where you are in life, a birthday is just a day," which I believe to be pretty true. Otherwise you're thinking to yourself "God, I'm ___ and I haven't ______" or "__ was a shit year..."

I'm pleased with the response to my Day at the Office picture; it's hard to believe that something which looks so simple actually took a while to put together. I'm at a wall now though, because I need more diverse stuff in my portfolio, likely something more 'graphic design-y', whatever the hell that means. I have a skewed idea of graphic design--to me it either means tracing, photo manipulation/color reduction, or a collage of arrows, balloons, clouds, and water-like things. My mind is not currently oriented to think that way, so coming up with a picture like that (when I haven't learned all of the techniques) is rather difficult--that, and I don't really like working with photos...

My Grandma was over and asked to see the picture I mentioned finishing on my birthday (Tree of Seasons) and loved it, asking if there was some place I could submit it to. In my head I laughed, and responded 'no,' because I remember what happened the last time someone encouraged me to do it. I have a rejected portfolio all about that...

I'm currently watching the original Star Trek thanks to CBS.com, but it takes forever to stream for some reason. 50 minute episodes take about 2 hours to watch...I'm waiting for a sub group to pick up Zan Sayonara Zetsubou Sensei, but the series is practically legend now for being too daunting for many groups to pick up. I might watch K-on eventually. Haruhi 2 is getting repetitive, despite that being a plot point. At least they're nice enough to redraw each scene so as to not be totally lazy.

Wow, this is the first time all my art-related things came first! I'm working at Staples again (Yaaaaay...) this summer and earning some money to pay for my books. Unfortunately, I just lost two weeks pay at once as punishment for when I stopped wearing my retainer a few months after I got my braces off. Had to pay for a new one -_-;; This is the summer of appointments for me; my Mom is scheduling all sorts of things we put off: I have to get a filling for a tiny cavity the dentist caught (small enough that they don't need to numb me since they caught it early), I'm getting new glasses (Bigger frames will be nice too, I just hope my new prescription doesn't take too much getting used to), and I'm going to have to get my wisdom teeth taken out some time this summer...Yay.

Going to bed at about 2 and finding it difficult to wake up before at least 11, which is annoying, as it only leaves me a few hours before I have to go to work.

Guess that's it for now, I'll update if I think of anything else.
